This week NASA got a latest report on Sun solar Storm. Which is carried out for NASA by the US National Academy of Sciences. And it said what Hopi,Mayan and Web Bot talked about Predicted for 2012, a big solar storm catastrophe

According to Hopi prediction "Sun will get Harder". Mayans said catastrophic "Solar Event" in 2012 and Web Bot also supported the same.

NASA report concluded that "The sun operates on an 11-year cycle, with the next "active" phase due in 2012 likely to present the nearest danger."

I also found a blog that deals with 2012 and has some interesting views.

Still Hoping for Green Energy!!

I received this email March 25, 2009 and want to make a community call to action!!!

The battle for smart energy continues! In December the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) ignored the facts and approved a route for SDG&E/Sempra's Sunrise Powerlink that slices through the Cleveland National Forest. But that wasn't the last word on this unnecessary proposal.

Currently, the Forest Service is weighing whether or not to do additional environmental review of the proposed project. Remember, SDG&E has admitted the southern route "cuts a new path through the Cleveland National Forest and impacts 40 miles of previously undisturbed lands." Taxpayers are being asked to sacrifice pristine public lands, and we don't even have a guarantee this line will carry one electron of renewable energy! We have smarter energy alternatives than this fossil-fueled transmission line.

TAKE ACTION: DO YOUR PART TO PROTECT THE CLEVELAND NATIONAL FOREST!

WHO: Write a letter to Cleveland National Forest Supervisor Will Metz.

WHAT: Share with Supervisor Metz why you value the Cleveland National Forest and why it should be protected. Ask him to do a supplemental environmental review because the original review of the southern route was hastily pulled together and has serious gaps.

WHERE: Letters can be mailed to Cleveland National Forest Supervisor Will Metz, 10845 Rancho Bernardo Rd., Ste. 200, San Diego, CA 92127.

You can mail me a copy of your letter by sending it to Sierra Club Smart Energy Solutions Campaign, 8304 Clairemont Mesa Blvd., Ste. 101, San Diego, CA 92111.

Hello Potrero (and those of you visiting via the www)

Welcome to the Potrero, CA Online Blog Spot!!

We are creating this blog for the residents of Potrero, California, and the backcountry area of San Diego County, so that all can have a say in any and all events that may impact our local backcountry communities, without going through a political or activist web site.

So, don't be shy to leave your comments, as that is why we are here. But we do hope you will be cordial in regard to your opinions (when possible) and do be aware that we are hoping to share your thoughts with the world wide web audience. Onto the News...

First of all, residents of Lake Morena, Campo, Potrero, Dulzura, Barrett, Jamul, Pine Valley, and Alpine need to be aware that the Sunrise Powerlink Initiative was defeated in the Anza Borrego area, and is now proposed for the Cottonwood Creek and Laguna and Hauser Wilderness Areas.

If you have recently seen big white X's on the ground well that is where a high voltage power line is supposed to be eventually. That is if this initiative is not defeated, as it was in the Anza Borrego Area. I will post more information as it becomes available.

California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) website for the California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) review of the proposed Sunrise Powerlink Transmission Line Project. Applications for this project were submitted to the CPUC on December 14, 2005 (A.05-12-014) and August 4, 2006 (A.06-08-010). This site provides access to public documents and information relevant to the CEQA and National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) review processes.

This link takes you to a virtual tour of the proposed route the power lines will take. It has not been updated since the Anza-Borrego plan, but stay tuned as it should reflect the change soon.

Second, if you are interested in the Blackwater West project that is proposed for the Potrero Area, there is a site with all the information you may want. Potrero, CA Online which is ran by BBoss Web Design, is the place to find all the links to the news stories, video's, etc. compiled in one easy non-profit, non-political web site.

The photo below is of the area Blackwater is requesting the Major Use Permit on. It is prime Southern California land that they want to "enhance" with firing ranges, driving course, barracks, and more.

The Potrero Planning Group met July 12, to a packed house with several guest speakers presenting their cases, for or against, the proposed Blackwater West Project. To see a review of the meeting click here.
